Terms of Service

1. About Us

M E C (North East) Ltd is an electrical contracting business based at Unit 4, Whickham Industrial Estate, Swalwell, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE16 3DA. We are a NICEIC Approved Contractor serving domestic, commercial and industrial clients across the North East.

2. Quotations and Acceptance

All quotations provided (by phone, email, or via this website) are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. A job is accepted when we confirm in writing or by phone, and any required deposit is received.

Prices quoted are based on the information provided at the time. Should the scope of work change once started, we will notify you before proceeding with any additional charges.

3. Payment

Payment is due on completion of the work unless a staged payment schedule has been agreed in advance. We accept bank transfer and cash. Invoices not settled within 14 days of issue may incur a late payment charge in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998.

4. Cancellation

You may cancel or postpone a booking by giving us at least 48 hours' notice at no charge. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice may result in a call-out fee to cover costs already incurred.

5. Our Work

All electrical work carried out by M E C (North East) Ltd complies with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and Part P of the Building Regulations where applicable. Certificates and notifications are issued as required by law.

We take reasonable care to protect your property during all work. Surfaces and areas are tidied upon completion. We are not liable for pre-existing damage or concealed defects discovered during work.

6. Liability

Our liability to you is limited to the cost of the work carried out. We are fully insured for public liability. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from our work or any delay in completing it.

7. Complaints

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website.
